Nivritti's father gifted his would-be son-in-law an expensive car and also handed over gifts to his family members. It's like a ladkiwalo ka dastoor to give gifts to the boys family before the wedding ceremony. The engagement ceremony took place in the evening, where the couple exchanged rings. Typical Mewari cuisine was served to the guests at the function. Various kinds of sweets were ordered for the special occasion. Fireworks and typical folk music went on throughout the night."
A tilak ceremony was also held, which saw the groom's family welcome the bride's relatives. "At the Patmudi ceremony, which was held last month in Odisha, the groom's side came to the girls house, and now at the tilak ceremony at Udaipur the girl's family came to the groom's place. Nivritti was not present at the tilak ceremony. Only male members from her family, including her cousins, brother and father were present for the function," informed a relative of Nivritti.
