Dubai: Dubai is all set to witness a high-voltage trade show on December 4-5 that showcases the luxury facets of India among Emiratis, Arabs and Asian high net worth individuals.
Royal India Luxury Show 2014 will focus on luxury segments in sectors like travel, hospitality, wellness, healthcare, education, fashion and lifestyle, with some of the wealthiest Indians, top fashion designers and scions of Indian royal families expected to attend.
The latest edition of the exhibition is slated to take place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel. Organised by Globuzz, the two-day extravaganza is free to the public.
Exhibitors include Incredible India (Ministry of Tourism, Government of India); Cox & Kings, the longest established travel company in the world; Cox & Kings Weddings; Ramoji Film City; Air Aura; Mehair; Sansha Spa; Woodland; Emgee Developers - Anantham; Jaypee Green Golf Course; Six Senses Spa, UAE Exchange, Sobha Developers; Rocky S; Archana Kochhar; Neeta Lulla; Monapali; Rohit Verma; and Satya Paul.
At the media launch to announce the inauguration of Royal India Luxury Show 2014, Paras Shahdadpuri, chairman of Nikai Group and president of the Indian Business and Professionals Council, said that India offers tremendous potential and this show is an excellent platform to market, promote and brand India’s portfolio of luxury products and services.
“India should not only intensify its marketing and promotional efforts, but the Indian luxury market stakeholders should also take measures to maintain credibility all along having visibility in the right places,” he said.
“The UAE-India bilateral trade accounts for over $65 billion with the UAE offering immense growth opportunities for Indian businesses, which needs to be channelised and tapped by the luxury market players. India’s luxury segment needs to be marketed to the world in an aggressive manner and Royal India Luxury Show needs to be appreciated [for this endeavour]. This show perfectly supports the initiative to market and promote India as a luxury destination in all its totality.”
I.R.V. Rao, assistant director at the India Tourism Office, said: “Royal India showcases the luxury tourism products of India and it helps to imbibe the grandeur and greatness of heritage, luxury hotels, trains and wellness in the minds of affluent Emiratis and Arabs in the region. The launch of the tourist visa on arrival [e-Visa] facility to UAE nationals would increase tourist traffic to India. We are expecting close to 100,000 tourists annually from here.”
On the opportunity that the UAE luxury market offers to India, Gayathri Elayath Bhardwaj, chief event organiser at Globuzz, said: “Based on the success of the inaugural show, Royal India Luxury Show 2014 has been fine-tuned and we have given it a more result-oriented approach in engaging a premium, unique group in a people-to-people format in meeting their needs and expectations about the luxury and class out of India.
“This show will truly fulfil their aspirations. We encourage people to come and explore the luxury element of the show,” Bhardwaj added.
Notably Yuvaraj Sambhaji Chatrapati Maharaj, the scion of the Kolhapur royal family and Maharaj Kumar Lahshyaraj Singh of the royal house of Mewar, will be the guests of honour at the Royal India Luxury Show.
Philippine Ambassador Grace R. Princesa, Seychelles Ambassador Dick Patrick Esparon, Korean Consul-General Seongdoo Ahn and New Zealand Consul-General Clayton Kimpton are expected to attend the opening ceremony. A charity fashion show is the other highlight of this year’s event.
Royal India Luxury Show is also mulling to launch a “Wellness Award”, honouring the very best and top-of-the-line brands in the industry.
