Daughter of royal family of Patnagarh gets engaged to Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar at Jag Mandir in Udaipur

Royal-engagement-in-UdaipurThe engagement of Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, son of Arvind Singhji Mewar, with Nivritti Kumari Singh Deo, daughter of Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, from the royal family of Patnagarh in Balangir, turned out to be a gala ceremony on Wednesday. Hosted at the Jag Mandir near the Lake City Palace of Udaipur, the ceremony saw the presence of families, relatives and close friends of both the Royal families.

Adding starry glamour to the event were actress Rekha and actor Chandrachur Singh. The engagement venue was beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, so was the the City Palace. A source close to the family said, "The guests mainly included royal families from various states. Nivritti's father gifted his would-be son-in-law an expensive car and also handed over gifts to his family members. It's like a ladkiwalo ka dastoor to give gifts to the boys family before the wedding ceremony. The engagement ceremony took place in the evening, where the couple exchanged rings. Typical Mewari cuisine was served to the guests at the function. Various kinds of sweets were ordered for the special occasion. Fireworks and typical folk music went on throughout the night."

A tilak ceremony was also held, which saw the groom's family welcome the bride's relatives. "At the Patmudi ceremony, which was held last month in Odisha, the groom's side came to the girls house, and now at the tilak ceremony at Udaipur the girl's family came to the groom's place. Nivritti was not present at the tilak ceremony. Only male members from her family, including her cousins, brother and father were present for the function," informed a relative of Nivritti.
